The dunes of Erg Chebbi, near the village of Merzouga are about 50KM(30 miles) southeast of Erfoud and they boast being the highest dunes in Morocco. These picturesque dunes rise 50M from the desert floor running north/south of the village of Merzouga and also place you within 40KM of the Algerian border.
